#3: Discover: CAREER PRE-REQS

So you want to be an astronaut!  But, what kind of education does it take to pursue that career?  When the astronaut is not in space, what do they do everyday on the job?

For these kinds of questions, you will have to conduct research on your careers you are interested in to find out if this is really what you want to do.

Information you should look for includes, but is not limited to,

  • Annual Salary - how much money you make in one year
  • Daily Tasks - things you will do almost everyday
  • Skill Requirements - skills such as speaking, writing, technical applications, etc.
  • Knowledge Requirements - concepts, general aptitude
  • Educational Requirements - level of education and what kind of college majors or degrees qualify
  • Training Requirements - education obtained not necessarily in school
  • Experience - total things you done in your life or previous jobs that would benefit you in this career
  • Job Outlook - future projections on if this job will continue to exist and if there will be more people hired in the future, which is great for you because you want to be hired!

The good news is, you will not have to waste time researching too hard, because lots of other people have already done the work for you.  Take a look at the following sites:
